VOLLEYBALL: S-VE FALLS TO OWEGO IN FINALS OF DRYDEN TOURNAMENT (2024-10-12)

DRYDEN — After winning its pool, S-VE topped the hosts in the semifinals, but came up just short in the finals against unbeaten Owego here Saturday afternoon at the Dryden Volleyball Tournament.

“The team did a great job throughout the entire day,” said S-VE coach Charity Meyers.

The Panthers went 5-1 in pool play, sweeping Groton by scores of 25-11 and 25-10, and Union Springs by scores of 25-18 and 25-20.

S-VE split with Trumansburg, dropping the first set 25-14, but bouncing back with a 25-16 win in the second set. T-Burg finished 4-2 in pool play, also dropping a set to Groton.

Owego also went 5-1, dropping a set to Lansing, to win its pool, while Dryden, which swept Lansing, finished second.

S-VE edged Dryden, 25-22 in the semifinals, while Owego topped Trumansburg.

Owego won the championship match, 25-19.
