STAC GIRLS DIVING: OWEGO'S KATCHUK WINS ELMIRA INVITE; BREAKS THREE RECORDS (2024-10-11)

ELMIRA — Owego senior diver Kaelyn Katchuk continues to break records, setting three new marks Friday night at the Elmira Invitational.

Katchuk became the first girl diver in Section IV history to surpass the 600-point total in an 11-dive championship.

Kathuck’s score of 612.85 points surpassed the Section IV record of 590.30. She also broke the Elmira Pool record of 589.85 and her own Owego school record of 561.85.

Owego freshman Ayla Young finished fourth with  496.45 points, breaking her own personal-best of 466.65.  

“Both divers were really dialed in today,” said Owego diving coach Roger Katchuk. “It was exciting to see.”

Maine-Endwell’s Madison Morris was second with 573.75 points,and Corning’s Cella McLaughlin was third with 535.55.
