IAC GIRLS SOCCER: LYON, MORRIS POWER SVEC TO 4-0 WIN OVER EDISON (2024-10-10)

ELMIRA HEIGHTS — Ally Lyon scored two goals, and Amelia Morris dished out two assists to lead SVEC to a 4-0 win over Thomas A. Edison here Thursday afternoon in IAC South Large School Division girls soccer action.

Lyon, off a feed from Morris, scored the first goal of the game with 24:17 remaining in the first half, and Meradyth Stouffer, off another assist from Morris, made it 2-0 about two minutes later.

Kaitlyn Coppage, off an assist from Stouffer, scored in the opening minute of the second half to extend the Eagle advantage to 3-0.

Lyon tacked on an unassisted insurance goal midway through the second half to provide the final margin.

SVEC had an 18-5 advantage in shots-on-goal, and a 5-0 edge in corner kicks.

Nicole Poli recorded five saves in net for the Eagles.

SVEC returns to action Friday when it hosts Notre Dame.
