IAC VOLLEYBALL: NEWARK VALLEY OPENS STRONG; WHITNEY POINT RALLIES FOR 3-1 WIN (2024-10-09)

NEWARK VALLEY — Newark Valley won the first set, but Large School-leading Whitney Point rallied to win the next three sets in a 3-1 win here Wednesday night in IAC volleyball action.

The Cardinals won the first set 25-18, but the Eagles answered with wins of 25-19, 25-18, and 25-14 to improve to 9-1 on the eason.

Rosie Wandell had two aces, seven setter assists, and eight digs, and Adriana Rich had four aces, three kills, two blocks, and two digs to lead Newark Valley, while Anaya Aylesworth two aces, and seven digs, and Laura Ludwig registered five kills, and one block.

Haven Aylesworth had 11 digs and two kills for the Cardinals, while Maddy Noble recorded 10 digs, HattieSue Hines had nine digs and one block, Jenna Vosburgh contributed three kills, and Isla Hendrickson chipped in with two digs.

Newark Valley, now 3-7, returns to action Thursday night at Lansing.
