IAC CROSS COUNTRY: NEWARK VALLEY RUNNERS FIND SUCCESS AT IAC LARGE-SCHOOL MEET (2024-10-09)

NEWARK VALLEY — Newark Valley runners found success as they hosted the IAC large-school meet on Tuesday afternoon.

For the girls Newark Valley’s Brook Illsley had a top-five finish, taking fifth in 23:04.4.

Newark Valley’s Olivia Vaughn was seventh in 23:12.6 and teammate Leah Lansing was 18th in 25:41.7 followed by Malerie Gregrow (26:01), Emily LaPorte (26:20.2) and Elle Webb (26:28.2).

Newark Valley’s Abigail Escalante was 25th in 27:52.5 and teammate Charlotte Vaughn was 34th in 31:34.3 followed by Kaitlyn Bohne in 31:35.8.

Newark Valley was third as a team.

For the boys Newark Valley was fourth out of six teams with 95 points and Trumansburg won at 37.

Marcos Escalante of Newark Valley was ninth in 20:00.1 and teammate Leland Houston was 11th in 20:16.1. Camden King was 13th in 20:34.8 and Rhyley Payne was 32nd in 23:33.1.

Newark Valley’s Reese Illsley was 43rd in 27:15.6 and Andrew Lelik was 45th in 27:55.5. Austin Debolt was 54th in 37:00.1.

Sheldon Houston won the modified boys race in 10:17 and Jacob Elliott was 13th in 11:22.7. Nathan Hollenbeck was 24th in 13:27.4 and Gavin Gilmartin was 27th in 14:13.8.

For modified girls Nora McCann was 13th in 12:42.6 and Nora Roth was 26th in 16:35.3 while Rebecca Kelsey was 33rd in 25:36.5.
