NEWARK VALLEY — Newark Valley couldn’t keep pace with Tioga here Thursday night in a 3-0 setback in IAC South volleyball action.

The Tigers won by scores of 25-17, 25-12, and 25-17.

Laura Ludwig led Newark Valley with five service aces, six kills, and two blocks, while Rosie Wandell had seven setter assists, and nine digs, and Anaya Aylesworth had three aces, seven digs, and one block.

Maddy Noble recorded 11 digs for the Cardinals, while Adriana Rich registered three kills and two blocks, Anaya Aylesworth had seven digs and one block, HattieSue Hines added five digs, and Jenna Vosburgh chipped in with two aces.

Newark Valley returns to action Friday at Watkins Glen.

JV: Tioga pulled out a 2-1 win in the junior varsity match. The Tigers won the first set 25-16, and the decisive third set 25-7, while the Cardinals won the second set, 25-21.
