STAC BOYS GOLF: BENSLEY LEADS OWEGO TO THREE-STROKE WIN OVER WAVERLY (21 PHOTOS) (2024-10-03)
Tioga County Sports Report WAVERLY — Jacob Bensley earned low-medal honors to lead Owego to a three-stroke win over Waverly here Thursday afternoon in STAC Central Division boys golf action at The Club at Shepard Hills.
The River Hawks, who have won three of their last four matches, won 242-245.
Bensley shot a 42 on the par-37 front nine at Shepard Hills, while Ryan Denton carded a 47, Duke Snyder shot 50, Wyatt Prentiss had a 51, and Hunter Woods added a 52.
Mason Grippen shot a non-scoring round of 53 for the River Hawks.
Senior Carson McIsaac led Waverly with a 45, and senior Devyn Kinney and sophomore Daniel Fischer each shot rounds of 49.
Owego, now 5-8, returns to action Monday at the Section IV Championships at Soaring Eagles Golf Course.
