IAC MODIFIED GIRLS SOCCER: SVEC NOTCHES PAIR OF WINS OVER TIOGA; IMPROVE TO 5-1 (2024-10-01)
Tioga County Sports ReportCANDOR — SVEC logged a pair of shutout wins over Tioga, sandwiched around a loss to Watkins Glen, in recent IAC modified girls soccer action.
SVEC improved to 4-0 on the season with a 9-0 win over Tioga in its first meeting.
Alaina Yeier and Ava Decker each had three goals and one assist in the win, and Melanie Stevens also had three goals.
Leah Neish recorded four saves in net for SVEC, and Melanie Stevens added one.
After a 6-0 loss to Watkins Glen, SVEC recorded another 9-0 win over Tioga to improve to 5-1 on the season.
Stevens scored four goals in the win for SVEC, while Decker, Yeier, Rylee Silvernail, Hannah Murray, and Amilia Lamontagne each scored one goal.
SVEC’s keepers — Neish, Silvernail, and Stevens — did not face a shot from Tioga.
SVEC returns to action Wednesday at Edison.
