TIOGA COUNTY — The Owego football team hits the road for its biggest test of the young season, while the unbeaten River Hawks’ boys soccer team is at home against Chenango Valley.

The Newark Valley girls soccer team (at Tioga) and field hockey teams (at SVEC) are in action on the road against Tioga County teams.

FOOTBALL
Owego (2-0) at Horseheads (2-1), 7 p.m.: The River Hawks are coming off a 28-6 win over Norwich, while the Blue Raiders dropped a 34-21 decision at state-ranked Waverly.

Owego’s defense has allowed just six points in its two wins, while Horseheads is scoring 39.3 points per game.

Conversely, the River Hawks are scoring 29.5 points per came, while the Blue Raiders are allowing 13.7 points per game.
