NEWARK VALLEY — Powerhouse Whitney Point controlled play throughout the match in an 11-0 win over Newark Valley here Thursday afternoon in Section IV field hockey action.

The Eagles (6-2), whose only losses are to non-Section IV teams, scored three goals in the first quarter, and led 5-0 at the half.

Whitney Point added four goals in the third quarter.

Emma Davis had two goals and one assist, while Ava Oliver and Kylan Smith each scored two goals, and Genevieve Huston doled out four assists to lead the Point’s offense.

Whitney Point had a 29-1 advantage in shots-on-goal, and a 6-3 edge in penalty corners.

Grace Guiles recorded 18 saves in the cage for the Cardinals.

Newark Valley returns to action Friday at SVEC.
