STAC GIRLS SOCCER: DODGE AND DEFENSE MAKE DALTON'S GOAL STAND IN OWEGO'S 1-0 WIN OVER FORKS (2024-09-26)

Tioga County Sports Report
BINGHAMTON — Ashlyn Dalton scored the game’s only goal late in the first half, and Owego keeper Olivia Dodge and the River Hawk defense made it stand in a 1-0 win over Chenango Forks here Thursday afternoon in STAC Central Division girls soccer action.

“Forks is a very skilled team, they challenged us throughout the entire game,” said Owego coach Laurel Evans.

“My goalie Olivia Dodge had some amazing saves to keep us ahead and, despite the rain, she adjusted very well and saved us big time.

“Along with Olivia, the middies Bella Silvestri, Leah Clark and Kira Coppage played great together to help create and deny opportunities they really stepped up today,” noted Evans. “I’m proud of how they played.

“Our mids were able to continue building and working together to get us some nice through-balls for opportunities.

“We are getting there, moving in the right direction and just learning and adjusting one game at a time,” added Evans.
