STAC VOLLEYBALL: OWEGO IMPROVES TO 7-0 WITH 3-1 WIN OVER WAVERLY (16 PHOTOS) (2024-09-26) Tioga County Sports Report OWEGO — Aside from a blip in the fourth set, unbeaten Owego was dominant in a 3-1 win over Waverly here Thursday night in STAC Central Division volleyball action.
The River Hawks won the first two sets by scores of 25-10 and 25-11. The Wolverines forced a fourth set with a 25-22 win, but Owego closed out the match with a 25-8 win in the fourth set.
Maggie Hamed had seven kills, four aces and eight digs, and Logan Georgia registered nine kills and two blocks to lead Owego, while Lexi Herceg had 21 setter assists and two blocks, Evelyn Howe added six kills, and Shannon Maslin chipped in with five digs.
Owego, now 7-0, returns to action when it hosts its tournament Saturday.
