IAC VOLLEYBALL: S-VE SWEEPS O-M; IMPROVES TO 4-0 (15 PHOTOS) (2024-09-18)

SPENCER — Despite being a “bit flat,” S-VE rolled to a sweep of Odessa-Montour here Wednesday night in IAC South Small School Division volleyball action.

The Panthers, now 4-0, won by scores of 25-12, 25-15, and 25-20.

“We wanted to try a few different things tonight but didn’t seem to be at our best,” said S-VE coach Charity Meyers. “O-M played with a lot of energy, and we were a bit flat.”

Kelsea Swayze led S-VE with 13 service points, including five aces, two kills, two setter assists, and four digs, while Lilyahah Doolittle had 12 points (three aces), three kills, and two blocks, and Lauren Gillette had 10 points (five aces), five kills, and one block.

Andy Wallace had seven points (two aces) and four digs for the Panthers, while Amani Diboun added five points (two aces), and four digs, and Faith Brenchley had four points, five kills, 14 setter assists, and five digs, Mahana Diboun added three points, three kills, and three digs, and Summer Taylor chipped in with three kills.

JV: S-VE (4-0) won the junior varsity match by scores of 25-6 and 25-13, and also won an exhibition set, 25-8.

Reece Hickey had 19 points, including 12 aces, and three kills to lead Owego, while Trinity Dasher had 14 points (six aces), four assists, and two digs, and Jayde Bailey had 11 points (seven aces).

Maddy Ashby added eight points (five aces), five kills, five assists, and two digs, while Jayden Riley had two points, Deborah Lau chipped in with three digs, and Eliana Middlebrook had one block.

S-VE travels to Horseheads Friday night.
