STAC GIRLS SWIMMING: LEE, KATCHUK NOTCH OWEGO'S ONLY FIRST-PLACE FINISHES IN LOSS TO ONEONTA (2024-09-18)

ONEONTA — Junior Sophia Lee and senior Kaelyn Katchuk registered Owego’s only first-place finishes in a 116-68 setback against Oneonta here Tuesday afternoon in STAC girls swimming action.

Lee won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 58.21 seconds. She also finished third in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:15.62.

Senior Kaelyn Katchuk won the 1-meter diving competition with 249.1 points, and freshman Ayla Young was second with 217.7 points.

Sophomore Ava Murphy finished second in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:15.45. She was also second in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:09.1.

Junior Olivia Schrader finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke in a  time of 1:25.99. She finished third in the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:43.76.

Freshman Kaiah Maelstrom finished third in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 7:09.76.

Owego returns to action Saturday at the Watkins Glen Invitational.
