OWEGO — The Owego boys got a pair of goals from Matt Higgins as they beat Chenango Valley 3-1 to move to 3-0 on the year.

“A good results for us after ten days with no game,” Owego coach Alessio De Michele said. “I think that impacted us a bit because momentum and confidence as a team are so important in this game. I have a lot of friends on CV’s team and staff, so would like to give them a shoutout because they worked incredibly hard from first to last minute.

“We still aren’t quite rewarding ourselves for our great buildup play with the goals at the end. This group is so fun to work with and they’re perfectionists and I like to see even after three wins they know there is more to do.”

Higgins had two goals in the win and Vasil Brich added a goal.

Sawyer Prentiss had an assist in the game for the River Hawks.
