Tioga County Sports Report
TIOGA COUNTY — Newark Valley football, Owego girls soccer, and the Tioga Volleyball Tournament headline a small docket of action Saturday.

FOOTBALL
Newark Valley at Schuyler, 6 p.m. @ O-M: The Cardinals are coming off a 42-8 loss to Section III Mount Markham in Week Zero, while the Lake Hawks open the season on the heels of a 6-4 campaign in 2023.

VOLLEYBALL
Candor at Tioga Tournament, 9 a.m.:  Tioga will host its 10-team tournament, with a strong field set to compete.

Candor will be in the pool on Court 1 with Tioga, Lansing, Horseheads, and Chenango Valley, while the Court 2 pool will feature South Seneca, Trumansburg, Corning, Oneonta, and Dryden.

The top two from each pool advance to the semifinals.

GIRLS SOCCER
Newark Valley (1-0) at Moravia, 10 a.m.: The Cardinals opened the season with a 2-1 overtime win over O-M Wednesday.

Chenango Forks (3-0) at Owego, 1 p.m.: The River Hawks have been off since a 2-1 season-opening win over Susquehanna Valley eight days ago, while Chenango Forks blanked Norwich, 2-0.
