COLLEGE BASKETBALL: NV GRAD BENJAMIN EARNS ALL-CONFERENCE HONOR IN SECOND SEASON (2024-08-09)

ALFRED, N.Y. — Newark Valley graduate Taylor Benjamin earned Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference honors in her second season at Alfred State College.
The sophomore guard was named to the third team after leading the Pioneers in every major category except one.
She was second on the team with 12.8 points per game while topping the list in 3-pointers (32), rebounding (9.0), assists (2.4), steals (1.7) and blocks (0.65).
Benjamin surpassed 500 career points in the final game of the season with a 24-point effort in a 65-53 victory over Carlow University. She now has 519 and her career single-game high is 26, which she achieved twice this past season.
She led the team in assists (2.4) as a freshman and was either second or third on the squad in all other major statistical categories.
Heading into her junior campaign, she has 52 threes, 340 boards, 109 assists, 65 steals and 23 blocks.
Alfred (5-13 AMCC) looks to improve on last season’s 6-19 overall record when it visits Houghton University Nov. 8.
