COLLEGE TRACK & FIELD: OWEGO GRAD SNYDER WINS CONFERENCE PV TITLE IN FIRST SEASON (2024-08-08)

BALTIMORE — Owego grad Gabe Snyder won the pole vault title at the America East Outdoor Track & Field Championships in his first season of collegiate action.
The University at Albany freshman cleared 14-5 ¼ on his second attempt to post the victory. It was his second win of the season. The first came at the Bobby Palmer UAlbany Classic where he went over the bar at 14-1 ¼.
Snyder recorded a career-best 14-9 to finish as the runner-up at the Capital District Classic.
During the indoor season, he took sixth at the AE Indoor Track & Field Championships with a height of 13-9 ¼. His best indoor height was 14-1 ¼, which carried him to a second-place showing at the Boston University Battle in Beantown.
Snyder logged two other top five finishes at indoor meets. He took third at the Utica Blue and Orange Invite at 13-7 ¼ and was fifth at the Carlton Crowell Open with a 13-1 ¼.
