YOUTH SOFTBALL: EYOTA NATION - SILVANIC CLOSES SEASON RIDING 22-GAME WIN STREAK (2024-08-01)

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — The Eyota Nation - Silvanic softball team posted a 7-0 record to win the Warren-Hunterdon Balloon Fest 12U championship Sunday and close out the season riding a 22-game winning streak.

WARREN-HUNTERDON BALLOON FEST
Eyota recorded four shutouts and allowed just four runs. Included was a perfect game by Emily Sipe in an 8-0 shutout of Ewing Edge-Butler in the tournament opener.

Eyota also blanked Manalapan Revolution twice by 2-0 verdicts and Blue Bombers, 1-0.

Berkley Ingram and Sipe combined to two-hit Manalapan in their first meeting, striking out six in five innings.

Kate Kithcart fanned nine batters in seven innings in their next clash, then struck out four more in an 8-inning shutout over the Bombers.

Kithcart notched 10 Ks in a 9-1 win against Mavericks, Sipe and Luci Salati added eight strikeouts vs. Empire Futures in a 14-1 victory, and Sipe closed out the tourney with five strikeouts in a 10-2 championship game win over Sabre Softball.

Several players had multiple-hit performances. Emma Rondeau was 3-for-3 in the championship game against Sabre while Ingram and Sipe both went 2-for-3.

Reese Vimislike was 2-for-2 against both Mavericks and Empire; Eva Crawford went 2-for-3 against Ewing; and Sipe and Braelea McLaren both went 2-for-3 against Empire.

THOUSAND ISLANDS CHALLENGE
Eyota was 6-0 with two shutouts en route to first place, and outscored its opponents, 76-11.

The team posted wins over Rattlers DeMayo, 15-0; Utica Lady Comets, 14-4 and 7-1; CNY Nightmare - Bresadola, 19-4; Auburn Xtreme, 12-2; and Finger Lakes Lightning, 9-0.

Crawford was named the offensive MVP of the tournament. She hit .579 (11-for-19) with 14 runs, nine RBI, a home run, triple and two doubles.

Contributing multiple-hit games were Rondeau (3 games), Silvanic, Kithcart, Ingram (twice each), and Brianna Lounsbury and Sipe.

Kithcart went 4-0 in the circle while Sipe was 2-0.

SOUTHERN TIER THUNDER TOURNAMENT
Eyota started its streak with five victories at the Thunder tourney, defeating LV Lady Kaos, 13-1 and 11-0; Southern Tier Thunder, 12-0, 9-0 and 7-3.

Kithcart picked up three wins in the circle while Sipe and Ingram added one apiece.

Players with multiple hit games were Kithcart, Silvanic, Lounsbury, (twice each), McLaren, Serfass, Vimislike, Rondeau and Ingram.
