OWEGO — Candor Lyon overcame a 5-1 deficit to defeat Penn Yan Dawson, 14-6, and claim fourth place in the 12B pool at the Owego Little League 12U Tournament Tuesday.

With Candor down four in the bottom of the third inning, Brock Rose drilled a ground-ball triple down the right field line to score Jackson Watson, Colin Strong belted a triple to center to bring Xander Reger home and Bentley Anderson smacked a double to center to score Strong to tie things up. Anderson scored when Penn Yan attempted to nab Aiden Cook stealing second, making it a 6-5 contest.

Following Reger’s two-out RBI single in the fourth, Strong nailed an inside-the-park home run to left to push the lead to 9-5.

Penn Yan got a run back in the top of the fifth, but Watson doubled to plate Lucas Edwards, then scored on a Rose base hit.

Strong singled, stole second and third, and scored on a wild pitch for Candor’s first run of the game in the second, and would finish the game 4-for-4 with four runs and five RBI.

Anderson was 3-for-3 with a run and two RBI; Reger was 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI; and Watson went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs. Rose contributed two hits, two runs and two RBI; Lucas Edwards scored twice and Logan Edwards tacked on a hit.
