Tioga County Sports Report
FARGO, N.D. — Three-time Section IV girls wrestling champion RaeAnn Craft from Owego won a pair of matches before bowing out due to injury at the 2024 U.S. Marine Corps 16U Nationals Saturday at the Fargodome.

Spencer-Van Etten/Candor’s Tayah Beach competed as well, dropping both her matches.

Competing at 118 pounds, the 22nd-seeded Craft, a rising junior and the first three-time girls wrestling champion in Section IV history, defeated My’Shawna Tinsley of Ohio, 12-4, in her opening bout, then dispatched Eva Zimnicki of Michigan in 57 seconds.

In the Round of 32, Craft faced Pennsylvania runner-up Lillian Rumsey of Williamsport and lost by fall in 3:13. Rumsey, the 11th seed, was a PIAA bronze medalist this past high school season. She was undefeated before falling in the PIAA quarterfinals to the eventual champion.

Next up was 17th-seeded Marli Arbona from Oklahoma in an elimination match, where Craft lost by injury default.

Beach, a rising junior year at S-VE, suffered a pair of falls at the Fargodome. She lost to Kristen DeLaRosa of OKlahoma in 1:52 and Mya Courtney from Kansas in 1:04.

DeLaRosa, the 16th seed, was a Class 6A state runner-up this past season. Courtney made the podium at the 14U Folkstyle state championships.
