YOUTH SOFTBALL: NEWARK VALLEY FALLS TO VALLEY ASA IN 12U ELIMINATION GAME (2024-07-01) Tioga County Sports Report
TIOGA CENTER — Valley ASA scored the maximum allowable five runs in each of the first two innings, eliminating Newark Valley, 18-2, in four innings in the consolation bracket semifinals of the Tioga County 12U Softball Tournament Monday.
NV scored its initial run in the bottom of the second. Following a pair of walks, Valley ASA would pick up a pair of strikeouts, then Newark Valley would plate a run on a single.
A hit batter and a base on balls put NV runners on base, then ASA would again pick up a pair of strikeouts. Newark Valley’s final run came on a steal of home.
ASA collected a dozen hits on the evening with Ivy Brown going 4-for-4. Hailey Smith struck out eight batters to pick up the win.
