Between fall and spring there was plenty of girls’ tennis action on the courts around the region, with several players turning in memorable seasons.

The Sports Reports’ 2024 All-Region “Player of the Year” is Cowanesque Valley’s Kylee Stone. Stone went 6-4, leading the Indians to another NTL title at first singles.

The “Doubles Team of the Year” is Corning’s Jessica Fang and Sophia Myers. The duo went 8-2 in the regular season, and was just one match short of making States at the Section IV State Qualifier.

The “Newcomer of the Year” is Owego’s Morgan Carrigg. The first-year senior was competitive throughout the season for a young River Hawks team in both singles and doubles, and in doubles in the Section IV Class B tournament.

Cowanesque Valley coach Melissa Boyer is the “Coach of the Year,” after leading the Indians to another league title.

Marissa Greiss, North Penn-Liberty: The first single player out of NP-L, she was also a first-team NTL All-star.

Hannah Nuss, Wellsboro:
The first single player out of Wellsboro, she was a first-team NTL All-star.

Lainey Alderfer, Towanda: Towanda’s number one, she was a first-team NTL All-star.

Emma Frost, Corning: Frost won five matches at first singles for Corning this year, while going 6-6 overall.
