The Sports Reports’ 2023-24 Super 7 Boys’ Lacrosse team as Elmira goalie
Sam Brenen-Buseck is the “
Player of the Year.”
Brenen-Buseck,
a D-I commit to LeMoyne, had 208 saves on the season, a shutout and 916
career saves. He was a first-team Section IV Division 1 all-star and a
scholastic All-American.
The “
Offensive Player of the Year” is Notre Dame’s
Finn Schweizer, who was fourth in Section IV in scoring with 85 points. He had 55 goals and 30 assists on the year as a sophomore.
The “
Defensive Player of the Year” is
A.J. Thomas
of Corning. He had a 98 percent win rate against opposing players on
close defense. He also had three goals and two assists from his
defensive position.
The “
Newcomer of the Year” is Horseheads 8th-grader
Brogan Sullivan, who had 23 goals and 13 assists this year.
The “
Comeback Player of the Year” is
Evan Garvin of Elmira. He had 31 goals and 35 assists for Elmira after missing the past two seasons.
Corning coach
Chris Hogue is the “
Coach of the Year.”
He guided Corning to wins in four of the final five games before
states, including a win n the Section IV final. After losses to Elmira
and Horseheads to start the year, the Hawks avenged those losses and
finished 3-0 against those teams the rest of the season.

Braden Woodworth, Horseheads:
Woodworth was first-team all-STAC attack. He had 32 goals and 31
assists for 63 points, and reached his 100th career point as a junior.
Ryan Stukey, Elmira: Stukey had 52 goals, and 24 assists for 76 points. He was a first-team All-Division 1 Section 4 all-star.
Zachary Lese, Horseheads:
Lese was a first-team all-STAC midfielder. He scored 27 goals and
doled out 27 assists, and recorded his 100th career point. Lese is a
Mercyhurst commit.
Sawyer Prentiss, Owego: Prentiss, a
sophomore, scored a team-high 49 goals and handed out 11 assists. He was
a Section IV, Division 2 second team all-star at midfield.
