YOUTH BASEBALL: OWEGO DROPS DISTRICT 7 GAME TO 12A SPARTANS (2024-06-27)

OWEGO — The Owego 12A all-stars scored both its runs in its initial at-bats, but couldn't match the 12A Spartans in an 8-2 setback in District 7 12U baseball play Tuesday.

Colby Cordero belted a home run to account for the Owego scopring.

Cameron Farrell delivered a one-out single, but was erased at second on a fielder’s choice. Farrell would come back in as a courtesy runner for Truett Hall and score on Cordero’s dinger to center field.

The Spartans retaliated with four runs in the home half of the first, highlighted by an RBI triple and a run-scoring double.

They added four more in the fourth to secure the victory.

Cordero paced the Owego batters with a hit, run and two RBI. Farrell added a hit and a run, and Devon Brace tacked on a hit.
