NYS TRACK & FIELD: OWEGO’S PALLADINO TAKES 15th IN DIVISION II 100 (2024-06-07)

CICERO, N.Y. — Owego sprint standout Stella Palladino finished 15th in the Division II 100-meter preliminaries at the NYSPHSAA Track & Field Championships Saturday.

Palladino, seeded 21st, posted a time of 12.846 seconds and placed third in her heat. There were 27 competitors in the D-2 event, one of whom was disqualified for a false start.

A torrential downpour accompanied by high wind gusts sent several tents flying and numerous spectators scurrying for cover.

Lightning in the area caused two weather delays and as of 6:30 p.m. had pushed activities more than three hours behind schedule. Palladino was supposed to run the 200 prelims at 3:55.
