THE WEEK AHEAD: FINAL WEEK OF 2023-24 ATHLETIC YEAR IS HERE (2022-06-03)

TIOGA COUNTY — The final week of the 2023-24 athletic year comes to an end with two events involving local athletes.

On Wednesday, the Owego Unified basketball team will play for the Section IV Division I championship.

The River Hawks will host the winner of Tuesday’s game between Norwich and Binghamton at 5 p.m.

On Friday, Owego’s Stella Palladino competes in the 100- and 200-meter dash trials at the NYSPHSAA Track & Field Championships at Cicero-North Syracuse.

The 100 begins at 1:30 p.m. and the 200 starts at 3:55 p.m.

Spencer-Van Etten's John Garrison competes in the 3,000 steeplechase Saturday at 10 a.m.

The girls 100 and 200 finals will be held at 10:50 a.m. nd noon, respectively.
