CANDOR — It’s been a tough season for the Spencer-Van Etten/Candor baseball team, but the Eagles closed it out in impressive fashion Monday, rolling to a 16-0, 5-inning victory over George Jr. Republic.

SVEC played its entire roster and established control early, chalking up eight runs in the first inning as it batted through the lineup. Republic.

Jason Jantz led things off with a triple and added a double in his second at-bat of the inning. He scored twice and drove in a run. Republic.

Jacek Teribury had a single, a walk and a run; Logan Aman was hit by a pitch, drew a base on balls and scored a run; Cameron Sinn and Wyatt Ross both had a single and a run, and Owen Huizinga contributed a hit, run and two RBI; Levi Anderson walked and scored; and Zach Lang sacrificed a run home. 

Deveon Aman, Huizinga and Lang all singled and scored in the second with Lang driving in a pair of runs, and Anderson walked and scored to give the Eagles a 12-0 cushion. 

In the fourth, Colton Churey singled and scored, Cyrus Toyryla walked and scored, Sinn had an RBI double and scored a run, and Anderson singled and scored. Chrysler and Lo Presti reached base with a double and a walk, respectively. 

Anderson picked up the win on the mound, striking out 14 batters, including the last seven. He gave up two hits, two walks and hit one batter.
