SECTION IV GIRLS GOLF: KUNZMAN LEADS SVEC EFFORT IN MULTI-TEAM MATCH (2024-05-13)

WATKINS GLEN — Lily Kunzman shot a 53 to lead the SVEC effort in a five-team Section IV girls golf match Monday.
Kunzman finished fifth in a field of 23 competitors and her round included a par on the par-4 sixth hole on the par-36 Watkins Glen Golf Course.
Horseheads won the match with a 207 team score, Waverly was second with a 221, the Eagles were third at 232, the hostLake Hawks came in fourth with a 248 and Elmira Notre Dame had an incomplete team.
The Blue Raiders’ Ava Fairbrother grabbed another medalist honor with a 47. The Wolverines’ Breanna Robinson was second with a 50, followed by WG’s Emily Melveney at 51, Horseheads’ Olivia Hatch with a 52 and Kunzman.
Horseheads’ Mady Weigand and Sophia Hulslander tied for sixth, each shooting 54, Waverly’s Lauryn Delill took eight with a 55, the Lake Hawks’ Anna Franzese was ninth with a 56 and SVEC’s Lauren Gillette carded a 57 to tie ND’s Emma Steed for 10th.
SVEC’s other golfers were Annika Walle at 58, Ashlynd Goodrich with a 64 and Lilly Alison with a non-scoring 85.
The Eagles will host Elmira Wednesday at the Catatonk Creek Golf Course.
