BINGHAMTON — The McEvoy sisters combined for nine goals and Lexi Herceg added four more as Owego dumped Seton Catholic, 15-7, in Section IV girls lacrosse action Saturday.

Madison McEvoy accounted for five goals, including the first one of the game just 26 seconds after the opening draw.

The Saints’ Erin Derr responded with a goal 12 seconds later, but Jenna McEvoy put the River Hawks ahead to stay at 5:43.

Madison McEvoy and Ashleigh Steel would put the ball in the goal seven seconds apart at 1:52 and 1:45 for a 4-1 lead, then Seton’s Addison Duff scored 43 seconds left in the period to make it 4-2.

Owego doubled the lead to 8-4 in the second quarter as Lexi Herceg scored at 6:10 and 1:27 and Jenna McEvoy tallied at 5:58 and :10.

The Saints got goals from Derr at 9:05 and Sophia Burr at 2:38.

Madison McEvoy hit the net for two more goals in the third period, at 9:38 and 2:47, while Burr scored 5:11, and Owego carried a 10-5 cushion into the final stanza.

Isabella Herceg put one in the scorebook just 58 seconds into the fourth quarter, then Lexi Herceg wrapped goals at 9:07 and 2:41 around one from Jenna McEvoy at 2:41, and Jenna McEvoy racked up goal No. 5 with one second remaining.

Derr and Burr would notch hat tricks for the home team at 9:29 and 5:09 of the fourth, respectively.

In addition to her 5-goal performance, Madison McEvoy dished out four assists, won a half-dozen draws, had five ground balls, two forced turnovers and one interception.

Lexi Herceg contributed five ground balls, three draws, three forced turnovers and one interception; Jenna McEvoy added seven ground balls and one draw; Steele chipped in with five ground balls, three draws, two forced turnovers and an assist; Bella Silvestri recorded four ground balls and three forced turnovers.

Alexis Nelson had three ground balls, two forced turnovers and one draw; Keira Henry added three ground balls and one forced turnover; Isabella Herceg and Eleanor Sherman had two ground balls and one forced turnover apiece; Amelia Sherman had two forced turnovers and one ground ball; and Mikayla Wilbur tacked on one ground ball and one forced turnover.

Owego (8-7) now awaits the sectional seedings.
