IAC BASEBALL: T-BURG PICKS UP 12TH WIN IN VICTORY OVER SVEC (2024-05-09) Tioga County Sports Report
SPENCER — Trumansburg put the Spencer-Van Etten/Candor baseball team in an early hole en route to a 10-1 IAC victory Thursday.
It was the Blue Raiders’ 12th win of the season and 11th in the past 13 games.
T-burg combined a triple, two doubles, three singles and a hit batter in to five runs in the top of the first inning.
The Eagles got a run back in the home half of the inning on a Wyatt Ross home run.
T-burg added single runs in the second, third and fourth, then tacked on a two-run homer in the seventh.
Zach Lang went the distance on the mound for SVEC, striking out eight batters.
The Eagles other hits were singles by Jason Jantz and Cameron Sinn.
SVEC closes out the regular season Monday against George Junior Republic at Candor.
