ONEONTA — Owego scored 11 runs in the first inning and rolled to a 13-0, 5-inning victory over Oneonta in STAC softball action Wednesday.

Seven players made two plate appearances in the inning, including Alex Aubel and Miley Laubach, who delivered two singles apiece. Laubach drove in three runs and Aubel plated another.

Ava Brown and Brooklyn Guarnier also reached base twice in the inning, Guarnier with an RBI single and after being hit by a pitch, and Brown with an RBI single and a walk.

The River Hawks’ other two runs came with two away in the third. Crawford and Maia Smith drove in one run each with singles.

Crawford, who twirled a one-hitter, struck out five, did not issue a walk and hit two batters. She retired seven batters in a row on two occasions.

Laubach led an 11-hit attack, going 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBI. Crawford was 2-for-4 with two RBI, Cheeseman had a hit, run and two RBI; and Guarnier added a hit, two runs and one RBI.

Smith chipped in with a hit, run and RBI; RaeAnn Craft added a run and an RBI; and Jill Lewis tacked on a run.

Aubel stole three bases, Brown, Crawford and Laubach contributed two thefts apiece, and Guarnier had one.

Owego (7-7) now awaits the sectional seedings.
