BINGHAMTON — Lexi Herceg and Madison McEvoy combined for 11 goals as Owego rolled to a 21-7 victory over Seton Catholic in Section IV girls lacrosse action Thursday night.

Jenna McEvoy and Ashleigh Steele contributed hat tricks to the win, and three other River Hawks found the net as well.

Herceg and Madison McEvoy took turns scoring to start the game and give Owego a 4-0 advantage.

Keira Henry tallied with 2:04 left in the first period, then Herceg notched her hat trick with 44 seconds on the clock, sandwiching her goal between a pair from Steele to give the River Hawks an 8-1 cushion.

Jenna McEvoy tallied three straight times in the second quarter, scoring at 11:27, 5:37 and 2:54. Lexi Herceg registered her fourth goal in the final minute of the half, then Madison McEvoy’s hat trick goal came with seven seconds left to make it a 13-4 game at the break.

Owego pushed its lead to 18-6 in the third. Madison McEvoy scored back-to-back goals in the first four minutes then Amelia Sherman wrapped a pair of goals around one from Lexi Herceg.

The final stanza brought a goal from the Saints near the midway point, then the River Hawks closed out the scoring with goals from Steele at 5:48, Lexi Herceg at 3:03 and Isabella Herceg at 1:48.

Lexi Herceg won seven draws and had two ground balls; Steele took four draws; Madison McEvoy dished out three assists, had four ground balls and three caused turnovers, and won two draws; Jenna McEvoy added an assist, five ground balls and a draw; and Isabella Herceg had two ground balls, an assist and a draw.

Alexis Nelson had three caused turnovers; Bella Silvestri had two ground balls; Henry won one draw and added one ground ball; Eleanor Sherman had one ground ball and one draw; Amelia Sherman had one draw and one caused turnover; and Zoe Schneider tacked on one ground ball.

Shannon Maslin made seven saves and added two ground balls

Owego (4-4) gets a shot of revenge Monday night when it travels to Windsor for a 7:30 p.m. game.
