HS TRACK & FIELD: S-VE’S GARRISON WINS NY/PA 1600 CROWN (2024-04-13)

WINDSOR — Spencer-Van Etten’s John Garrison ran to a first-place showing in the 1600-meter run at the NY/PA Track & Field Invitational Saturday.

The senior distance standout clocked 4:31.34, besting Ithaca’s Zoltan Nadasdy (4:34.66) and Niskayuna standout Thomas Canestrari (4:37.15).

In the girls meet, Kirsten Garrison finished fourth in the 2,000 steeplechase with a time of 9:07.

The Panthers were 15th out of 23 scoring teams in the boys meet and 20th out of 24 teams in the girls meet. Ithaca won the boys team title and Sidney took the girls honors.

S-VE heads to Tioga Tuesday for a multi-team meet at 4:30 p.m.
