OWEGO — Brooklyn Gaurnier’s walk-off solo home run lifted Owego to a 7-6 victory over Seton Catholic in STAC softball action Tuesday.

The dinger in the bottom of the seventh was her third hit of the game, which included a third-inning triple to score Peyton Coolbaugh with the River Hawks’ initial run of the contest.

The Saints erupted for six runs in the fourth, highlighted by a two-run double. Seton also took advantage of five walks, two passed balls and a wild pitch.

Owego countered with five runs in the fifth with two outs in the book. Following a leadoff single by RaeAnn Craft, the Saints recorded a pair of outs, only to have Alex Aubel retaliate with a two-run homer.

Gaurnier and Ava Brown followed with singles, then Joslyn Space delivered a two-run double to make it a one-run game. Maia Smith tied it up with an RBI single.

The River Hawks cranked out 13 hits with Gaurnier going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Smith was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Kylie Grippen also went 2-for-3.

Space was 1-for-2 with a run and two RBI; Aubel had a hit, run and two RBI; Brown and Craft recorded a hit and a run apiece; Miley Laubach and Lewis added one hit each, and Coolbaugh scored one run.

Carsten Crawford and Space combined in the circle with Crawford going three innings, striking out five, giving up one hit and walking one. Space threw the final four, giving up six runs on six hits with seven walks and three strikeouts.

Owego (1-2) heads to Chenango Forks today.
