The Sports ReportsIt was a big year for area girls’ bowling
and it led to some tough choices for The Sports Reports All-Region
girls’ bowling team.
Elmira’s
Madison Smith headlines this year’s team as the “
Bowler of the Year.”
She averaged 195 this season to lead the STAC. She was an individual
state qualifier for Elmira as well, and helped lead the Express to the
STAC and Section IV, Class A title.
Elmira’s
Madison Wasicki is the “
Newcomer of the Year.” She averaged 158 this season for the Express.
Elmira coach
Tim Crout guided the Express to STAC and Section IV, Class A crowns and he is the “
Coach of the Year.” He led Elmira to a runner-up finish at the state qualifier.

Abby Hink, Elmira: Averaged 175 on the season. A state qualifier for the Express.
Jen Mattison, Horseheads: Averaged 176 on the season for the Blue Raiders.
Maddie Jerzak, Horseheads: Averaged 176 on the season for the Blue Raiders
Kylie Downing, Corning: Averaged 173 on the year for the Hawks.
Kaitlyn Floyd, Candor: Averaged 175 on the year. Posted an 1,882 at the state qualifier. IAC first-team all-star.
Serenity Conklin, Waverly: Averaged 177 on the season, ninth in the STAC. Had a high series of 587 and high game of 213.
Karis Hayes, Waverly: Averaged 173 this year. Had a high series of 571 and high game of 231. Had a 1,711 at the state qualifier.
Bella Wood, Elmira: Averaged 169 on the season for the Express.
Jadyn O’Dell, Corning: Averaged 167 on the season for the Hawks.
Alea VanAlstine, Corning: Averaged 163 on the year for the Hawks.
