STAC BOYS TENNIS: OWEGO FALLS TO CHENANGO VALLEY (2024-03-26)

OWEGO — For a second straight day the Owego boys tennis team hosted a match, this time taking on Chenango Valley in a STAC 7-0 setback.

The River Hawks’ first doubles team of Devan Card and DJ Cardones put on a marathon battle, dropping a double tie-breaker to Kainoa Tang Chung and Amir Sadykov. The foursome dueled to a pair of 6-6 ties with the Warriors winning the first set, 7-0, then outlasting their hosts, 10-8, in the second set.

Sam Beyer took on CV’s Owen Stafford at first singles and dropped a hard-fought 7-5 decision in the opening set, and lost, 6-2, in the second.

Ari Lemmon fell to Arin Miller at third singles, 6-4, 6-1.

Roan Duffy lost to Kyle Santi at second singles, 6-0, 6-0.

The second doubles match saw Anakyn LaPine and Theron Robinson drop a 6-2, 6-0 verdict to Miles Garnar and Kayden Stalker.

CV received forfeits at fourth singles and third doubles.

Owego (0-2) visits Waverly (0-1) April 2 at 4:30 p.m.
