OWEGO — The Owego boys tennis team opened the spring season against Chenango Forks Monday, dropping a 7-0 STAC Central decision to the Blue Devils.

Roan Duffy had the River Hawks’ best result, dropping a pair of 6-2 verdicts to Joey Worden at second singles.

At first doubles, Devan Card and DJ Cardone came up short against Jayson Samson and Nolan Sirgany, 6-1, 6-1.

Ari Lemmon picked up the team’s other game win, falling to Alex McMullen, 6-1, 6-0, at third singles.

Sam Beyer took on Michael Rullo at first singles, dropping a 6-0, 6-0 match.

Anakyn LaPine and Theron Robinson competed at second doubles, losing to Aiden Hunt and Dominic Balcom, 6-0, 6-0.

Forks received forfeit wins at fourth singles and third doubles.

Owego hosts Chenango Valley Tuesday at 5 p.m.
