CORNING FARRELL NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL GIRLS “ATHLETE OF THE WEEK”
Farrell won a state and federation title in the 1,500-meter race walk at the NYSPHSAA Championships on Saturday.
Farrell
also set a Corning school and Section IV record with her time of
6:40.09. The time was a top 10 time in New York State history and a top
15 time in U.S. high school history.
Farrell won the state meet by more than 13 seconds over the runner-up.

WAVERLY’S JOHNSON NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL BOYS “ATHLETE OF THE WEEK”On
Sunday, Johnson won Section IV gold in the 55-meter dash in a
school-record time of 6.41 seconds. He also ran on the 800-meter relay
team that finished second, and hit the state standard with a
school-record time of 1:34.14.
On Saturday, Johnson finished
second at States in the 55 in 6.42 seconds. The 400-meter relay team of
Johnson, and seniors Micah Chandler, Charlie Larrabee, and Nehemiah
Anthony finished 16th, but once again broke the school record, clocking
in at 1:32.99.
