TIOGA COUNTY — The Candor girls basketball team opens the postseason with a trip to Delhi for the first round of the Section IV Class C Girls Basketball Championships.

The Coyotes are young with a starting lineup which features two sophomores and two freshmen. Their sixth man is also a freshman and the remainder of the team played the majority of their games at the JV level.

The Bulldogs come in with a 13-6 record and with a roster consisting of five seniors and two juniors.

Delhi won eight straight games at one point in the season, but are only 3-4 down the stretch.

Candor is led by Nicola Soper, who broke the school’s single season and career rebounding records this season.

The winner has a date with Moravia on Friday.
