SECTION IV BOYS SWIMMING & DIVING: ALLEN LEADS OWEGO WITH TWO CLASS B MEDALS (2024-02-18)

ENDWELL — Owego’s Magavin Allen captured a pair of individual medals at the Section IV Class B Boys Swimming & Diving Championships Saturday.

Allen broke the one-minute mark in the 100-yard backstroke, placing second with a time of 59.23 seconds. He also placed third in the 200 individual medley in 2:09.75.

Also placing in the “A” finals were Jaxson Calice, seventh in the 50 free in 23.38 seconds and Eric Schrader, seventh in the 500 free in 5:39.73.

In the relays, Allen, Vincent Kneller, Schrader and Calice placed fourth in the 200 medley with a time of 1:57.41; Allen, Joseph Gaurnier, Schrader and Calice were fifth in the 200 free relay in 1:42.15; and Javan Belokur, Gaurnier, Christian Monell and Kneller were eighth in the 400 free relay, clocking 4:13.59.

Competing in the “B” finals were Calice in the 100 free (9th, :52.36), Belokur in the 500 free (10th, 5:49.6), Schrader in the 200 free (12th, 2:08.32), Connor Riegel in the 100 breaststroke (12th, 1:21.04), Belokur in the 200 free (13th, 2:12.4), Kneller in the 100 breast (13th, 1:23.17) and Everett Tirinato Snow in the 100 breast (15th, 1:24.06).
