IAC BOYS BASKETBALL: NEWARK VALLEY DROPS REGULAR SEASON FINALE TO UNION SPRINGS (2024-02-18)

UNION SPRINGS — Union Springs erupted for 33 first-quarter points and rolled to an 88-33 victory over Newark Valley in IAC boys basketball crossover action Friday night.

Collin Park drained four 3-pointers en route to a 16-point opening period effort. Luke Parker added two treys and Rocco Testa had another.

The Wolves finished the game with nine threes and five players scoring in double figures. Park posted a game-high 18 points. Nevin Brown scored 14, Testa had 13, and Asa Brown and Orion Rusinko added 11 and 10, respectively

Union Springs led 50-13 at the half and 76-23 heading into the fourth quarter.

The Wolves (13-7) came into the game as an honorable mention the Class C state rankings

Anthony Dougher led the Cardinals with 11 points. Tim Wojtysiak added seven, Cooper Davis scored five, Dan Truesdail had four, and Nate Hinckley, Dylan Iverson and Matt Keller chipped in with one field goal apiece.

NV (8-12) opens Section IV Class B play at state-ranked Trumansburg (15-5) Wednesday at 6 p.m.
