SPENCER — The Spencer-Van Etten girls basketball team struggled to put points on the scoreboard Monday night in a 41-17 IAC crossover loss to Edison.

The Spartans got off to a hot start behind eight points from Payton Littlefield and a pair of 3-pointers by Gabby Milazzo.

With a 15-6 lead in hand, Edison made it 23-11 at halftime, then gave up just six points in the second half.

Littlefield paced the Spartans with 15 points and seven rebounds while Milazzo, Charlee Stroman and Harper Hoffmann scored six points each. Milazzo and Stroman drained two threes each, and Hoffmann blocked six shots.

Faith Brenchley led S-VE with six points and a pair of steals; Raegan Sudnikovich had four points, seven rebounds and one steal; and Lilyanah Doolittle contributed four points and six boards.

Aubrie Kastenhuber tacked on three points and six rebounds. Adriena Farmer chipped in with four boards, Katelyn Klym had a rebound and a steal; and Demi Mouillesseaux grabbed one rebound.
