TIOGA COUNTY BOYS SOCCER ALL-STARS: NV'S DAN COWULICH HEADS UP TALENTED GROUP (2018-12-27)

Tioga County Sports Report
TIOGA COUNTY - Newark Valley recorded its first Section IV playoff victory in six years this season and gave eventual Class C state champion Lansing a battle in the sectional semifinals. The Cardinals would go 8-6 overall and much of their success was attributable to the 2018 Tioga County Sports Report Player of the Year, Dan Cowulich.

The senior striker would score 18 goals and dish out five assists. He was named an IAC South Large School division first-team all-star for a third consecutive season and was voted the division MVP this season as well.

Newcomer of the Year
Waverly resurrected its boys program this season and Cameron McIsaac was called on to defend the goal with an inexperienced defense in front of him.

The freshman averaged 17 saves per game while facing an average of 22 shots each contest, posting a .773 save percentage. He also scored one goal when not playing keeper.
