IAC GIRLS BASKETBALL: S-VE DEFEATS TIOGA TO KEEP DIVISION, PLAYOFF HOPES ALIVE (2024-02-06)

TIOGA CENTER — The Spencer-Van Etten girls basketball team kept its division and playoff hopes alive with a 38-22 IAC South Small School victory over Tioga Tuesday.
The Panthers need a win over Edison and a loss by Candor against Groton to force a division playoff. They must also beat state-ranked Greene to qualify for the playoffs.
Raegan Sudnikovich scored four points and Faith Brenchley added a 3-pointer as S-VE jumped out to an 11-3 lead in the first quarter. Taliah Speer had a trey for the Tigers.
The duo repeated their scoring numbers in Q2 to go up 18-8 at the half. Tioga got five points from Mia Hall, including a 3-pointer.
Adriena Farmer scored four points in the third period as S-VE stretched its lead to 26-13.
Bri Predmore put in three points as six different Panthers scored in the final stanza.
Sudnikovich led S-VE with 10 points and eight rebounds; Faith Brenchley had eight points, five assists, four steals and three rebounds; and Farmer added seven points, four boards and one steal; Aubrie Kastenhuber contributed four points, four rebounds and a steal; and Predmore had three points and one rebound;
Lilyanah Doolittle chipped in with two points and five rebounds; Demi Mouillesseaux had two points, one assist and one steal; Hannah Smith added two points and two boards; and Katelyn Klym tacked on three steals and one rebound.
Speer led Tioga with nine points and Hall had eight.
S-VE (6-10) hosts sixth-ranked Greene (15-1) Wednesday.
