TIOGA COUNTY — It’s a busy day with seven events on the schedule, seven of which involve basketball.

BOWLING
Groton at Newark Valley, 4 p.m.: The Cardinals made a clean sweep of Odessa-Montour in their last outing.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Candor (15-2) at Groton (5-11), 7 p.m.: The state-ranked Coyotes hit the road to face the struggling Red Hawks.

Newark Valley (6-10) at Whitney Point (7-9), 7:15 p.m.: The Cardinals need to win two of their final four games to qualify for the postseason. The game is the nightcap for a boys-girls doubleheader.

Tioga (11-6) at S-VE (0-13), 7:30 p.m.: The Tigers are looking to improve their sectional seeding prospects while the Panthers are still trying to find the win column.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Newark Valley (16-1, 12-0) at Whitney Point (6-9, 6-6), 5:30 p.m.: NV has already clinched the IAC South Large School division.

S-VE (5-10, 5-7) at Tioga (0-15, 0-11), 5:30 p.m.: The Panthers are clinging to slim playoff hopes while Tioga is seeking its first victory. There is no JV game.

Waverly (8-6) at Owego (10-6), 7:15p.m.: Chenango Forks has already clinched the division, but both the River Hawks and Wolverines can use another win for sectional seeding purposes.
