NEWARK VALLEY — Owego’s Bobby Struble recorded three falls and two shutout decisions to cap an undefeated day at the 30th annual Larry Goodrich Memorial Wrestling Tournament Saturday.

Competing at 170 pounds, Struble shut out Elmira’s Sam Brenen-Buseck, 5-0, in the championship match. He also had a 5-0 decision over Rush-Henrietta’s Tamar Jasper. His pins came in 29 seconds, 1:09 and 2:40.

Collin Monell scored a 9-6 decision over Marcos Escalante of Newark Valley to claim third place at 138. He also recorded a fall in 1:37 and an 18-2 technical fall. He suffered one loss, a 5-3 decision to eventual champion Asaac Mead of Deposit/Hancock.

Trevor Decker was eight at 285, going 1-4 with one pin to his credit.

John Swackhammer took 10th at 170, posting a 2-3 mark. His wins were both by fall, including one in 16 seconds.

Jonathon Gilliland was 11th at 145, going 1-2 with a major decision.

The River Hawks host Susquehanna Valley in a STAC dual meet Wednesday at 6 p.m.
