IAC BOWLING: SVEC OPENS SEASON WITH VICTORIES (2023-11-30)

ELMIRA — The Spencer-Van Etten/ Candor bowling teams took seven of eight points to win the season opener over Edison Wednesday.
The lady Eagles swooped in for a 4-0 sweep while the boys won, 3-1.
GIRLS
SVEC won by scores of 714-402, 696-384 and 716-326, and captured the total pinfall, 2126-1112.
Kaitlyn Floyd led the charge with a 170-488, followed by Kaydee Jackson with a 171-475 and Calli Marsh’s 169-460.
Kristin Baker scored a 135-359, Jennarose Reagan rolled a 115-338 and Emma Knickerbocker added a 115-235.
Reagan Peris led the Spartans with a 122-324.
BOYS
The Eagles’ Kody Floyd and Edison’s Zack Crown started the season with a pair of red-hot series.
Crown rolled a 206, 270 and 202 to finish with a 678 while Floyd registered a 208, 215 and 212 for a 635.
They weren’t the only ones to hit a 200 game as Tyler Dunham started his round off with a 231 en route to a 545 series.
Aiden Jackson added a 171-413, William Dizer tacked on a 125-343 and Luca Romans had a 108-288.
The Eagles posted a big win in game one, 797-629, and took the third game, 746-646, to claim the total pinfall 2,224-2,028. The Spartans won the second game, 753-681.
SVEC heads to Harborside Lanes in Watkins Glen Tuesday.
NOTE: Six bowlers can compete in each game with the lowest score being dropped.
