SECTION IV CROSS COUNTRY: CANDOR COMPETES IN CLASS D CHAMPIONSHIP (2023-11-02)

CHENANGO FORKS — Candor has been a bit short-handed this season, but that didn’t stop the Coyotes from putting their best foot forward at the Section IV Class D championship at Chenango Valley State Park on Thursday.

Kristin Baker paced the girls team, placing 14th with a time of 22:44.2.

Gwen Shaw and Isabella Matisco crossed the finish line just five seconds apart. Shaw clocked 25:48.5 to claim the 29th spot while Matisco was 30th, clocking 25:53.5. Calli Marsh rounded out the group, placing 42nd in 26:54.7.

In the boys race, James Kane, Gage Maxwell and Issac Tuttle were separated by less than 30 seconds with Kane at the front, placing 43rd in 20:50.4. Maxwell finished 45th with a time of 20:55.1 and Tuttle was 48th at 21:18.1.
