COLLEGE GOLF: OWEGO TWINS COMPETE FOR WELLS LINKS TEAM (2023-11-01)

AURORA, N.Y. — Wells College became the 10th full member of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference starting with the 2023-24 athletic year and Owego grads Joe and John Bangel became members of the Express's men’s golf team.

The twins are among five first-year players on the roster, which also includes a pair of sophomores.

Joe competed six matches this fall while John participated in five. Each of them posted a low score of 97 during the season. Joe’s round came at the SUNY Poly Invitational and John matched it at the Wells College Classic four days later.

At the AMCC championships earlier this month, Wells finished ninth out of nine teams with John and Joe placing 42nd and 43rd, respectively.

The twins will also be competing for the Express men’s basketball team, which begins its season next month.
